Six Nations Preview

England vs Wales

England eased past the 7 point handicap in beating Ireland 24-12 at Twickenham in round 3. Wales were shocked by a spirited French side in Cardiff ending 23-27 in favour of the French. England need to try get a full house this weekend if they are to catch Les Bleus, who currently sit 4 points clear at the summit of the table. With the uncertainty regarding England’s remaining fixture vs Italy due to the Coronavirus, it is a must win for the hosts and they need to do it in style. Although the last 5 fixtures between these sides has seen the margins maxed at 8 points, I think England will have enough power and drive to cover the double digit handicap.

Bet: England -11.5

Scotland vs France

The Scots are coming off a stuttering 17-0 victory against Italy away from home. Prior to that, they suffered two 7 point defeats to England and Ireland respectively. While they still go down in the history books as defeats, Scotland were impressive in both games giving their more favoured opposition a couple of scares. France are fresh off a win in Wales and are favourites to lift the 6 Nations trophy. In the last 6 meetings between these sides, the home team has won every time. France haven’t covered a spread of more than 5 points at Murrayfield since 2010, and I just feel as if the Scots will lift their performance at home this weekend.

Bet: Scotland +6.5

Ireland Italy

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus fears the fixture has been postponed. The date of the fixture has yet to be released with rumours circling that the match will only be played in October later this year. The news has cast doubt over the completion of this years tournament, possibly ruining France's chances of becoming Six Nations champions for the first time in 10 years.
